Gloria Cecil Obituary

Funeral Services for GLORIA LORRAINE (MILLS) CECIL, 84, will be held at 10 am Thursday, November 20, 2025, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints with Bishop Brett Dyer Officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery. Gloria died November 12, 2025, in Cheyenne following complications from a fall in early October at her home. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3pm to 5pm at the funeral home. Arrangements are by the Colyer Funeral Home and condolences may be sent to www.colyerfuneralhome.com. Gloria was born November 5, 1941, to Irving Melvin Mills and Helen Lorraine Mills in Salt Lake City UT. Gloria Moved with her parents to Torrington when she was 5 years old when her parents opened the O.P. Skaggs grocery store in Torrington. Gloria attended school in Torrington and graduated in 1960. She married Larry Cecil on June 11, 1961. They had 2 children, Shari (Cecil) Jenkins and Jon Cecil. She attended College in Torrington and later graduated from Chadron State College in 1969 with a degree in elementary education. She taught 1st and 2nd grade in Torrington for many years and also taught migrant school in the summers. After retirement she had many hobbies and spent as much time as possible with her grandkids. She had a passion for quilting and won many awards for quilts she had made. Many of those quilts were gifts for her family members. Gloria is survived by her children Shari (Clyde) Jenkins and Jon (Beth) Cecil: Her grandchildren Lance (Jessica) Jenkins, Ty (Jamie) Jenkins, Jeremy Cecil, and Hannah Cecil: and great grandsons Axton Jenkins, Mak Jenkins, and Damien Turner: her sister Joyce Anderson and many nieces, nephews, and cousins: She is preceded in death by her husband Larry and her Parents.
