Guy-Gregory Kealakaula Aiu, 71, passed away in Honolulu on September 22, 2025.
He was the son of Master Kumu Hula Ma'iki Aiu Lake and Honolulu Fire Chief Boniface Aiu; brother to Boniface Aiu, Jr. (all deceased).
He is survived by sisters Karen Aiu and Coline Aiu Ferranti, both of Honolulu; brother Scott Aiu of San Francisco CA; niece Faith Aiu of Ewa Beach; nephews Hi'ilei Aiu and Boniface Aiu III, both of Honolulu; sister-in-law Marlene Aiu-Parpal of Kapa'a, Kaua'i. Other survivors include many grand-nieces, grand-nephews and cousins.
He is a descendant of Ali'i wahine Kahiwa Kanekapolei (Royal consort to Mo'i Kamehameha I) and Kahuna Nui Namiki (High priest for Mo'i Kamehameha I).
Mr. Aiu worked as an aide in the Hawai'i State Legislature; played upright base with noted Hawaiian singing group Kuliaikanu'u and enjoyed surfing.
He will be remembered as a protective brother and uncle; a deeply spiritual thinker and church musician/singer. He, along with his mother, shared their profound belief in "Aloha Ke Akua".
"He ali'i ka la'i, he haku na ke aloha pau'ole" (Peace is a chief, the Lord of love, everlasting)

Auwe, I meet Guy some years ago at work with IATSE. I asked him if was related to Maiki Aiu. He said she is my mom. I replied, my grandmother and your mom were close hula sisters and taught by Kumu Hula Lokalia Montgomery. We became instant friends.
Love, Aloha and Blessings to the ohana.
If possible, i would like to attend his Celebration of Life gathering.
