Harold Hirakawa Obituary

HAROLD KUPAHU HIRAKAWA SR., BOXER Harold Kupahu Hirakawa Sr., 72, of Waianae, Hawaii, passed away on June 9, 2023 at his home in Nanakuli. He was born on February 18, 1951. Harold, "Boxer," was an avid waterman and retired machine operator with Matson. Harold is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer Hirakawa, sons Harold Jr. (Traisha), Wayne (Geraldine), daughters Ku'ulei (Pumpkin), Gina, 9 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 3 hanai grandchildren, brothers Lono, Kalani (Cindy), Shinichi (Debbie), Joseph, Sam (Joanne), Ruben (Laurie), Peter (Gloria); sisters Madeline (Tom) and Leilani. Hanai parents Buff and Momi Keaulana. He was preceded in death by his daughter Theresa Tanya. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at Mililani Mortuary Mauka Chapel. Visitation at 5:30 pm, Service at 6:30 pm. Service and scattering of ashes will take place at Makaha Surfing Beach on Sunday, August 27, 2023, at 10:00 am. Bring your own chairs and loose flowers. Remember Boxer coming to Molokai as a young Boy during the summers staying with his Aunt Kuulei and uncle Freddy Demello, that is when I first met him and his brother , then I left Molokai and met up again at Waianae High School class of 1969 Graduates, met up with my friend again.
