HARRY WOODD Obituary

HARRY B. WOODD Beloved Husband, Father, Friend Harry B. Woodd passed away peacefully at his home in Hawai'i Kai on the morning of May 16, 2025. He was born in Kalia, Waikiki, on the very land where the Hilton Hawaiian Village now stands a place rooted in the spirit of old Hawai'i and family legacy. A proud graduate of Roosevelt High School, Class of 1959, Harry went on to attend Church College of Hawai'i, now Brigham Young UniversityHawai'i. He later owned and operated the well-known Stephany's Bar, a local landmark across from A'ala Park that became a gathering place for Polynesians. Harry served with distinction as a member of the famed Metro Squad in the Honolulu Police Department. After leaving the force, Harry continued his public service at HGEA (Hawai'i Government Employees Association), where he remained until his retirement. He is survived by his loving wife, Patti; daughter Lani (Tom); twin sons Brent (Lilliana) and Bryant (Mitch); and stepchildren Charles (Connie) and Melissa, sister Evelyn Kahawii. He was a proud grandfather to eight beloved grandchildren, each a light in his life. Harry will also be fondly remembered by his faithful canine companions, Hilo and Gus. Outside of work, Harry found joy in time spent with friends and family, a good round of golf and the laughter that followed at the 19th hole with his golf club, the Kongees. Though he traveled widely, his favorite getaway was always Las Vegas- his happy place. No matter where he went, Harry brought with him an infectious smile, a warm spirit and kindness that lifted everyone around him. He is missed dearly. A heartfelt thank you to Charley Iida, for always lifting his spirits bringing him comfort and laughter to every visit. Private services pending.
