Hassan Terry Obituary

There are people who pass through your life, and then there are people who leave a mark on it. Hassan was the latter.

He was a good man. Not in the casual way we sometimes say it, but in the way that actually matters. Steady. Present. The kind of person you could rely on without needing to ask twice. That sort of character is rare, and it does not get recognised often enough while someone is still here.

What stays with me is not just that he was part of my life, but how he showed up in it. The conversations, the moments that seemed ordinary at the time, the quiet consistency of who he was. Those things don´t feel small now. They feel like the real substance of a person.

It is difficult to reconcile the loss. There is no neat explanation that makes it make sense, and perhaps there never will be. But I like to think of him the way we think of Mars when we look up at the night sky, distant but still shining, still there, still part of the same horizon we all share.

He mattered. He still does.

And whatever space he leaves behind is a measure of that.
