I worked for her home care agency with her for a few years. We connected and bonded immediately over both of our time with our respective 4-H club. Helene had a great sense of humor and thoroughly enjoyed teasing her adoring husband. She was strong and she was independent, from a time when women were not often in leadership roles I imagine she was always breaking that mold in her younger years. All my love to Mark, Kathy, and Lori. You guys were the dream team.

So sorry to hear this from Bert Kimura this morning; my sympathy to all. I will be thinking of you today, July 9, as you are having a celebration of life for Helene. I will definitely be there in spirit, as Helene was a really special, long-time friend after we met at the National 4-H Conference back in the 1960s. Jo and I were always so excited when we could get together with you guys...and Jo and Helene's shared Parkinson's experiences seemed to bring us even closer. Again, my condolences!
