Hiroyuki Ito Obituary

HIROYUKI ITO Hiroyuki Ito passed away on July 2, 2023, at age 95. Hiro was born in Waipahu and was the fifth of seven children to Yazo and Natsu Ito. Hiro served in the Military Intelligence Service then worked for HonFed for more than 25 years. He was an active volunteer and served on many community committees. Hiro devoted 36 years to the Lion's Club and was also a volunteer at Pali Momi Medical Center. A music lover, especially Japanese enka and folk songs, Hiro played the harmonica, guitar, and ukulele, and was part of a harmonica trio, "Harmonica Sannin Otoko." He golfed at Makalena for many years. Hiro loved snacks, gadgets, gardening, cooking, and hosting others. He loved spending time with the love of his life, Lil, and snacking with his grandchildren. Together Hiro and Lil watched their grandchildren's sporting events, and helped with whatever they could. Hiroyuki is survived by his wife of nearly 70 years, Lillian; daughters Lyanne (Craig) Sakamoto, Sherene (Lloyd) Sugihara; grandchildren: Erin Kwok, Kyle Sakamoto, Casey Sugihara, Ray Sugihara; four great grandchildren: Quinten, Nixon, Kolten and Myla; brother Takao Ito; Private services held. Arrangements Provided By: Mililani Memorial Park and Mortuary
