Aloha until we meet again Tihati, I enjoyed the numerous Tahitian Club meetings we had over the years. Your efforts to recruit young members to join the Iaorana Tahiti Club were very much appreciated. Even though the club was pretty much defunct, I know you had hopes that it would be reestablished, we tried.
Maururu for all your contributions to the club and the Tahitian language.
I will be in Tahiti on Tihati's memorial service, my thoughts will be with his family and friends.
The angels will trumpet songs of gladness upon your arrival.

We send our sincere condolences to Ethel and her family. Jack's friendship began with our meeting as graduate students in the anthropology department of the University of Hawaii in 1957 and it was renewed and maintained by his and his family's generous hospitality whenever we revisited Hawaii in the subsequent 60 plus years.
