James Crites Obituary

JAMES ARTHUR CRITES Of Honolulu, passed away on August 2, 2025 surrounded by family. Born on January 16, 1953 in Gary Indiana, grew up in Virginia and graduated from Francis C. Hammond High School. He moved to Hawaii in the mid-1970s where he quickly made it his lifelong home, enjoying fishing and boating. He worked at Chez Michel, spent 20 years at Hyatt Regency Waikiki and later as a property manager. He had a way with words that made him very unique in his own way. Above all, Jim will be remembered for his generosity, kindness, always willing to lend a hand to help others. He is survived by his beloved wife, Yvonne Toda-Crites, and many friends and loved ones whose lives he forever deeply touched. A service honoring Jim's life will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025 at Diamond Head Mortuary. Visitation 5-6pm. Service 6pm. Please no flowers.
