James Lim Obituary

James S. C. Lim, 93, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2023, at Grand Strand hospital in Myrtle Beach, SC. He was born in Honolulu, HI, on February 12, 1930, to the late Man Sik Lim and Duk Soon Chung. He is preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Ann Dotherow Lim, and siblings; Raymond Lim, Helen Uyehara, George Lim and David Kim. Survivors include his daughter, Allison; son, Mark Lim (Lisa) of Fredericksburg, VA; brother Kenneth Kim (Linda) of Las Vegas, NV, and numerous nieces and nephews who called him, "Uncle Jimmy". Among his many accomplishments was an exemplary career in government. He was also an avid reader and remarkable golfer. He was an unusually thoughtful and generous man. My children considered him the grandfather they never knew. He led a truly remarkable life, and will be missed dearly.
