James Whitman Obituary

JAMES MCKINNON WHITMAN James McKinnon Whitman, 89, of Kamuela, Hawaii, returned home to be with the Lord with family by his side on May 28, 2023. James, better known as "Jim" to family and friends, was born on October 19, 1933 on Maui to the late William McKinnon "Mac" and Myrtle Crozier Whitman. His two brothers Douglas ("Chub") Whitman and Kent Whitman (BJ) preceded him in death as did his wife Shirley Mae (Lindsey) Whitman. Jim was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his three sons and daughters-in-law, John Whitman (Kathryn), Scott Whitman (Elizabeth), James Whitman (Amy), and his daughter, Michele Whitman. His large family included five stepsons and their families: Lawrence Lindsey, Eddie Lindsey (Mel), Tommy Lindsey, Ted Lindsey (Uvonne), and Seymour Kaniho-Lindsey (Becca). Jim is also survived by many grandchildren and great- Vgrandchildren. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life, July 9 at 12 pm, 64-507C Pukuniahi St, Kamuela.
