Jenny Lee Engel, 51, passed away peacefully among family on June 5, 2025, in Lincoln, Nebraska, the city where she was born on December 22, 1973.

Jenny was the beloved daughter of Susan Engel (Lee) and the late Gary Engel. She grew up in a home filled with warmth alongside her sisters, Carrie Engel and Jill Engel. Her family was her foundation, and her greatest joy in life was being a mother to her cherished daughter, Ella O'Gorman. Jenny is also survived by her nephew, Jack Engel-Kaminsky and was deeply loved by many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She carried the memory of her father Gary and aunt Linda Wentz with her always.

A proud graduate of Lincoln East High School in 1992, Jenny was a spirited member of the Apollonaires dance team. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln in 1996, where she was an active member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority.

Jenny began her professional journey at Ameritas Life Insurance in 2000. Over the next 12 years, she rose from international wholesaler to team leader in the Individual New Business. In true Jenny fashion, always following her heart, she later pursued a new path aligned with her passion for skincare. After earning her esthetician license from the College of Hair Design, she joined Bella Skin Care & Apothecary in 2013. There, she found not just a career but a calling. Her clients became friends, and her coworkers became family. Jenny's radiant personality and genuine care made every appointment more than just a service, it was an experience filled with warmth and connection.

Jenny had an adventurous spirit and a deep love for travel. Arizona held a special place in her heart, a sun-soaked retreat where she could relax by the pool with a good book in hand. She found joy in life's simple pleasures: morning iced tea runs to her favorite gas station for that perfect ice, time spent with loved ones, and cuddles with her beloved pets, Hadley, Raven, and Bubbas.

Her faith journey led her to First-Plymouth Church in Lincoln. The community there brought her peace and inspiration; she held deep admiration for the pastors who guided her through both joyful moments and life's most difficult challenges.

Jenny was truly one of a kind, a rare soul whose kindness knew no bounds. She had an infectious laugh that could brighten any room and a smile that reflected the light within her. She made everyone feel seen, safe, and loved, whether you knew her for years or only shared a brief moment.

She faced life's hardships with grace and courage that inspired all who knew her. Even during the most difficult times, Jenny never stopped giving of herself. Her strength was quiet but powerful; it carried those around her.

To know Jenny was to be loved deeply, fiercely, and unconditionally. That love remains woven into the hearts of those she touched. May we carry forward Jenny's legacy by loving as she did, with open arms and hearts.

A celebration of Jenny's life will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025, at First-Plymouth Church,.

In honor of Jenny's favorite color, the family kindly asks the guests to consider wearing something green. Whether it's a tie, a scarf, or a touch of green anywhere, it would be a beautiful tribute to her memory as we celebrate her life. Memorials can be made to the family for future designation.
