Jerome Bookin Obituary

JEROME BOOKIN, JERRY Dr. Jerome "Jerry" Bookin, 88, passed away on September 6, 2024, in Honolulu, HI. He is survived by his children, Eric Bookin (Magdelena), Lisa Bookin Johnson (Christopher), Terri Lazer, and Hank Lazer (Jane) and his brothers, Alan Bookin (Helen) and Stephen Bookin (Beverly). He was proceeded in death by his first wife, Catherine Bookin, and his second wife, Wendy Lazer Bookin. Jerry graduated from the University of Iowa with his Bachelor and Medical Degrees and practiced as a Radiologist. He began his career in Monterey, CA, then transferred to Dameron Hospital in Stockton, CA where he practiced for over 20 years. Upon retiring, he returned to his beloved Monterey and later moved "to paradise" in Honolulu, HI. To say that Jerry was an avid golfer would be an under-statement; he lived and breathed golf. He played golf at some of the most beautiful courses in the world. He belonged to two outstanding clubs: Monterey Peninsula Country Club and Mid Pacific Country Club and made many incredible friends at each locale. He often told others that he considered himself to have "lived a full, happy, and fortunate life." Many thanks to his wonderful friends, neighbors, and the incredible staff at Kahala Nui.
