JERRY CUTTER Obituary

JERRY CUTTER Gerald Henry Cutter, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, respected automotive industry leader, and beloved community figure, passed away peacefully at the age of 97. Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Jerry served in the Korean War before beginning a lifelong career in the automobile business. With determination, vision, and remarkable people skills, he built a legacy that would span decades. He became one of the first operators of a Ford dealership under a dealer development program, later expanding his impact through multiple dealerships across California, Las Vegas and Hawaii. Seeking warmer weather and bigger opportunities, Jerry moved his family to California. It was there he founded his first Cutter Ford dealership-a defining moment in his emergence as an automotive entrepreneur. In the early1970s, Jerry saw promise where others did not and relocated to Hawaii. In 1974, he opened Cutter Ford Aiea, laying the foundation for what would become one of the most respected automotive groups in the islands. Over the years, Cutter dealerships expanded throughout Hawaii, and his name became synonymous with integrity, community, hard work, and family leadership. Even after stepping back from daily operations, his influence and standards continue to guide the Cutter family businesses. Jerry was known for his larger-than-life personality, impeccable style, sharp wit, and love of life. He was proud of his heritage, deeply devoted to his family, and generous in spirit. He had a gift for connecting with people and a presence that filled every room. He is survived by his beloved wife, Brenda Cutter; his children and their families; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and the many people whose lives he touched through friendship, mentorship, generosity and kindness. Jerry will be remembered as a devoted family man, a visionary businessman, and a man who lived fully and fearlessly. His legacy continues through the family he cherished, the businesses he built, and the countless lives he influenced. May his memory be a blessing.
