JIM KIRK Obituary
JIM KIRK From the island of Manhattan to the island of O'ahu, what an incredible life Jim led. Jim will be dearly missed by his wife of 66 years, Jessica; his children, Jimmy (Sharlene), Kevin (Carole) and Ann Marie; grandchildren Kayla (Alika), Phoebe (Sal); and one great-grandchild, Journey. Jim has joined his parents, James and Janet Kirk, and his three brothers: Jack, Peter, and Tom in God's loving embrace. Jim was born in New York City on August 5, 1934, and he passed away peacefully at his beloved home in Hawai'i on August 8, 2025 at age 91. A graduate of the famed Cardinal Hayes High School, Bronx, N.Y., Jim attended State University of New York and continued his education at Kapiolani Community College, Chaminade, and the Honolulu Academy of Arts. Jim served four years in the US Air Force and is part of a long-honored tradition of his family serving our country including Kirk ancestors who served in the Civil War, World War l, World War ll, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, and the Middle East. Other branches of the military family served include the Army, Navy, and Marine Corps. Jim's successful business career was extensive. His love of people and his gift of salesmanship led him to positions in Sales and Marketing, Public Relations, Financial Planning, and heading an Insurance Agency, as well as owning his own business. Over the years, Jim's hobby was creating a museum-quality collection of miniature soldiers, airplanes, cars, tanks, and dioramas of historic battle scenes. To assure their authenticity, he had a shelf full of history books and pamphlets nearby for reference. It was fascinating to hear him explain with such joy and passion various dioramas he created, including the Zulu British War and Napoleon's Battle of the Pyramids. "Jim Remembered My Name" is a forever indelible phrase our family has heard all through the years, and particularly during the medical challenges Jim faced the last few years. Jim genuinely cared about you, your family, your children, and your health. Even if it had been months or years since he last saw you, it didn't matter; he loved you, and "Jim Remembered Your Name." Our family will also always remember Jim's smile. It was full of love, kindness, laughter and Aloha. Celebration of Jim's Life: Saturday, Oct. 11 at Diamond Head Memorial Chapel, 10 am to 11 am: Visitation 11 am to 12: Celebration of Life: 12 to 1:15 Lunch & Talk Story.
