JOANNE HAUNANI HONDA KAINA Joanne Haunani Honda Kaina (66) transitioned peacefully into the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at her home, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday August 17, 2024, after being diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer in March 2024. A forever loving wife to her husband, a role model to her children a most supportive Aunty Nani and a cherished friend to many, in the Hula, Soccer and Professional Community, and for many years helping to teach the Keiki at Faith Christian Fellowship Church. Her talents were many, but her greatest gift, was the love of family, friends, cooking and feeding her family and friends, great food, great company and even greater desserts. She was a beautiful hula dancer for many years with Ka Pa Hula Hawai'i under Kumu Hula Kaha'i Topolinski (this is where we met) she served and partied with many at Round Table Pizza and shared her love for plants at Oma'o Nursery. Joanne would finally find a home at Bank of Hawaii, Kapolei Branch in the Recovery Department of the Consumer Loan Management Services working her way to a Senior Collector before retiring after 28 years. She was born on July 6th, 1958, in Honolulu, HI. raised in Aiea and graduated from Aiea High School class of 1976. She was predeceased by parents Julia and Kanai Honda, Brother Steven Honda and Sister Marvis Chinen. Survived by Fay Nicely (sister); Sam Kaina (husband); Son Radcliffe Ikaika (Ipo) Kaina; and Daughters Hannah Leialoha (Adria) Kaina and Rachel Kaluhea Kaina. Services will be held on Saturday October 12th, 2024, at Nu'uanu Memorial Park & Mortuary, East Chapel, 2233 Nu'uanu Ave. 10-12pm visitation 12-1pm Services.
