John - you were my first golf teacher. But you did more than teach. You inspired and encouraged me to be better from the start. I went from whiffing the ball to hitting the 100 yard marker with my 9 iron after the first lesson, at 11 years old. More importantly, you were so kind to me. John, you were pivotal in my life and I am forever grateful to have met you.

Such a beautiful soul. I love hearing about Uncle John and his many many accomplishments. I will always hold a special place for him in my heart. He was so fun, with a great sense of humor. His smile was bright and contagious. I love him and will miss him tons!!

The notation before mine from Randy Hollowell was told to me at his sisters funeral tonight. I could not believe it as I lived at the bottom of the hill from his house and attending Woodlawn High School with John. He visited my house so many times and we played basketball and played different sports while just being good friends. I can guarantee 55 to 60 yrs later he would handle cancer or anything else in his life with strength and courage. He was easy going and super smart and I had many great times hanging out with him and others in our neighborhood and I bought the house next to ours at that time and lived in for over 50 years now. I heard at a reunion maybe 20 yrs ago one of classmates told me John was doing great and was a golf pro at a club in Hawaii and I was envious of him but he deserved a great and happy job and he was the best golfer of our age. I am Ronnie Miller 318-687-4886 and would love to talk to anybody in his family that wants to. My respect for John is the utmost and my sympathy to his family now at this time. Any person related or friends with John had a respectable, sensible and smart friend or family member. God bless his family and friends Ronnie Miller

I grew up down the street from John in Shreveport La. we both played golf at Meadowlake CC. John was one of the best players I have ever seen. My sister graduated with John and she passed away last Sunday. My thoughts and prayers will be with all of his family and friends.
