JOHN KEAULANA Obituary

JOHN D. DOUGIE KEAULANA John "Dougie" Keaulana, age 77, of Honolulu and Nanakuli, Waianae, passed away January 30, 2024 after a battle with cancer. He retired from Hawaiian Reinforcing Steel in 1980 and the Department of the Navy PWC, NAVFAC as a Welder, Sheet Metalist in 2008. In John's younger days he enjoyed surfing and paddling with Leeward and Honolulu Canoe Club. John was an avid golfer, golfing almost daily even traveling yearly to experience the most of Golf. John was also an accomplished Virbaphone player. He had a great love of music and was happy to share this love with everyone. He was so proud of his Vibes he had it redone in Koa. He played with "Lei Hulu" then with "Kapuna Tradition". He is preceded in death by son Keoni; daughter Marlo; brothers Joe and Llewellyn Blackie Keaulana. He is survived by his beloved wife, Joan; son, Jason; step sons Patrick and Derrick Revero. He is also survived by sisters Edith Van Gleson, Virginia Nani Hold, Irma Nahale'a, Joyce (Herbert) Gradle, Wilma Lei (Rodney) Calio; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Celebration of John's life will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Nuuanu Memorial Park and Mortuary, East Chapel. Visitation at 9:30 a.m., Service at 10:30 a.m. Burial at O'ahu Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Arrangements Provided By: Nuuanu Memorial Park & Mortuary LLC
