Julia Young Obituary

JULIA LEILANI HISAYE YOUNG Julia, age 78, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 20, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones at home. Born in Honolulu on March 25, 1946, to Itsuko and William Kaoihana Sr., Julia was a 1964 graduate of the Kamehameha Schools Kapalama Campus. She entered the Army after graduation and later worked in the family business at Honda Delicatessen until it eventually closed its doors in 1990. She found her way back to The Kamehameha Schools in 1994, where she was the study hall advisor and retired from there in 2019. Julia is survived by her loving husband, Stanley Young; daughter, Tara-Lyn Streadbeck (Lincoln); son, Ryan Young (Lynn); her widowed son-in-law, Winton Afong, who was married to her daughter, Beth Afong, who passed away in 2019. Julia has 8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Celebration of Life for Julia will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025. Mililani Mortuary Mauka Chapel. Mililani Memorial Park Road at Ka Uka Blvd, Waipahu, HI 96797. Visitation from 5:30 PM-6:30 PM, services from 6:30 PM-7:30 PM. Refreshments to follow. Arrangements Provided By: Mililani Memorial Park & Mortuary.
