KALELEONAMELE KEKAUOHA Obituary

KALELEONAMELE LELE KEKAUOHA 44, of Honolulu, passed away at home on June 15, 2024. Born on June 7, 1980, in Kunia to Walter Hokunani "Hoku" Kekauoha and Lokai Katie Mendonca, Lele touched many lives with his warmth and generosity. He is survived by his cherished daughters, Rylee and Zahriya; his father, Walter Hokunani Kekauoha; his twin brother, Ka'ipohanohano (Lehua) Kekauoha; and his sister, Mahealani Kauwela Kekauoha. Lele was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Lokai Katie Mendonca. He is also survived by numerous extended family members and friends whose lives he enriched. From his parents, Lele inherited a profound capacity for love and an unwavering commitment to helping others. Known affectionately as "one of a kind" a humorous nod to his twinship Lele was deeply passionate about music, following in his father's footsteps by mastering the guitar, piano, drums, and vocals. A true waterman like his uncles, he found solace and joy in boogie boarding, diving, and fishing. His insatiable curiosity led him to explore the world through hiking and travel, enriching his understanding and appreciation of diverse cultures. Lele's entrepreneurial spirit and talent were evident throughout his career. After honing his skills in the audiovisual production and design industry, he established his own successful company, serving numerous corporate clients locally and nationally. While we are devastated by his loss, we are profoundly grateful for the privilege of having Lele in our lives. Please join us in celebrating his life on Saturday, August 10, 2024, from 10am to 1pm at Anchor Church, located at 45-815 Pookela St, Kaneohe, HI 96744.

I can´t remember when I first met Lele (10 years ago or more?), but I DO remember how impressed I was with how genuinely kind, welcoming and thoughtful he was. He and Angela were so sweet with my daughter, Mary. They always made her feel special and as a mother so far away on the mainland, that meant everything to me and Mary´s father. He met Lele in May of 2016 and noted how warm and genuinely friendly Lele was. Lele´s smile shined brightest when he was with those he loved and he seemed to love everyone because he smiled a lot! I pray memories of that smile and of time with Lele will carry his loved ones through the difficult days to come. I believe he´ll always be near, just not near enough. I also believe Lele and those he loved will be together again one sweet day. Rest in peace, dear Lele. You are loved and cherished. It was an honor knowing you.
