Keani Taylor Obituary

KEANI TAYLOR It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Keani Taylor, also known as Rogerlene Kehaulani Waiolama Kahauolopua Lum on June 30, 2023. She passed away peacefully at her place of residence in Nu'uanu where she lived with her youngest daughter, Tiare Ku'uipo Lum. She was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on October 24, 1943, to Rachel Kalei Young and Joseph Waiolama, and was later adopted by Eben Kahauolopua. She is survived by her daughters Kamakani Lum and Tiare Lum; her siblings Ruby Maunakea, Joseph Kahauolopua, Eben Kahauolopua, and Lucille Lei Keli'ikipi (deceased), and many cousins, nephews, nieces, and grandnephews and nieces. Keani was a Kamehameha Schools Alumnus of the class of 1961, where she was a beautiful song leader who was adored by her classmates. Most recently, she was working as an Office Manager for Voya Financial where she loved her boss Jared Nakamoto and her co-workers. Keani was a perfect example of ALOHA, she gave and embraced all with the pure love of her heart and all she asked in return was that you shared it. Many of her family members remember her for her cooking and giving great advice, whether you took it or left it was your choice, but she always wanted the best for her ohana and friends. Keani Taylor was a vivacious Superwoman, a true gem, a very special one-of-a-kind human being. Her memories will be cherished by many on this earth who were affected by her generosity, kindness, and infectious laughter. Keani has been cremated, per her request, at Oahu Mortuary. Her Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 9:30 a.m. at The Kamehameha Schools Kapalama Campus Chapel. Her ashes will be scattered in the ocean in a private ceremony in October. Arrangements Provided By: Oahu Mortuary
