KENNETH CHING Obituary

KENNETH THOMAS CHING Kenneth Thomas Ching passed away on July 6, 2024 at 80 years old. He was born on April 25, 1944 in Honolulu. As a man of God, he made it his purpose to reach out and support anyone who needed the Lord's guidance. The most important thing in his life was his family and helping them achieve the same relationship with God as he had. Kenny was a member of Pearlside Church. He studied at the University of Hawaii at Manoa with a focus in Travel Industry and Management, and obtained an Associates degree from the City College of San Francisco in Hotel and Restaurant Management. He owned and managed two restaurants: Following Sea Restaurant in San Francisco and Chart House Hawai'i in Honolulu. His extensive service in the hotel industry included Castle Resorts and Hotels, Hawaiian Hotels and Resorts, Molokai Ranch Camps and Lodge, Sheraton Hotels, Pacific Beach Hotel, King Kamehameha Kona Beach Hotel and the Royal Waikoloan. Kenny was preceded in death by his parents Wallace and Rosaline Ching and brother Marvin Ching. He is survived by his wife Jacqueline (Navares); his five sons Kenneth (Sharon), Joshua (Vanessa), Matthew (Drienna) Kurisu, Mark (Melody) Kurisu, and Sean Tavares; his two daughters Kimberly (Matt) Holck and Chassis (Sam) Spangler. He is also survived by his siblings Barry (Lisa) Ching, Sylvia (Randy) Ching, Beverly Saito, and Michelle (Aaron) Kamau; 18 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held on October 11, 2024 at Mililani Mortuary Mauka Chapel. Visitation will be at 9:00am, Service at 10:00am, Burial at 11:30am refreshments and fellowship to follow. Kenny will always be remembered as a kind, loving and compassionate husband, father, grandfather, and Brother-in-Christ to many.
