LAM YOUNG Obituary

LAM JING JANE LAU YOUNG Lam Jing "Jane" Lau Young, 93, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2024. She was born in Chungshan, Kwangtung, China to her parents Chew Hin and Kok Chuan Lau. Lam Jing was the heart and soul of her family. Together with her husband of over 70 years, the late Harry Wah Chun Young, she built a life full of love and devotion to their seven children and families as well as the Young Fong Clan. She was proud to be known as Popo to her 15 grandchildren and Tai Tai to her 14 great-grandchildren. She kept everyone well-fed with home-cooked meals at weekly Wednesday night dinners and the harvest from her garden. Lam Jing shared and volunteered her talents with all. She was involved with St. Patrick School and Church and was a member of the Lung Doo Benevolent and Sun Ming Ting Chinese societies. Lam Jing could make anything from scratch. She fashioned wedding dresses for her daughters and daughters-in-law, knitted and crocheted hats for babies in the NICU, and cooked enough gau and jai to feed the neighborhood for Chinese New Year. She will be remembered for her generous and caring nature and talents. She will be deeply missed and is forever in our hearts. Lam Jing is survived by her seven children, Gregory (Meredyth), Arnold (Rebecca), Christine (Stuart) Lau, Eugene, Suzanne (Kurt) Eleam, Lance, and Janice (Gordon) Fukumoto. She was predeceased by her husband Harry Wah Chun, daughters-in-law Lorraine Young and Noriko Young. Visitation: 9:30 am, Celebration of Life: 10:30 am on Wednesday January 8, 2025 at Nuuanu Memorial Park and Mortuary, East Chapel. Burial to follow at 2:00 pm at the Lin Yee Chung Manoa Chinese Cemetery. Aloha attire. No flowers requested.
