I first met Lei during the Nixon re-election campaign of 1972 where she was a volunteer. Her unwavering support for the then President was a boost to the morale of the Hawaii campaign staff, especially we young teens fresh from high school with ideas and ideals a plenty. After the campaign, I remember Lei at her family travel business in Waikiki at Royal Hawaiian and Kuhio Ave, in the boutique blue house on the corner. Lei reminded of her early days in a Waikiki long past when times were relaxed, and aloha and family were respected and lived. Thank you for your friendship, Lei. You are remembered and memories cherished.

We were just watching Leilani´s service online. We loved hearing the eulogy, remembrance and all the stories. I remember Leilani used to do my dad and stepmom´s travel arrangements when they visited Hawai´i. Leilani was such a fun and special person. I´m so glad to have gotten to know her. She was a special cousin, a talented person. She will be missed. Love and deepest sympathy to the Ayson family for the loss of your special sister.
