Leimomi Maldonado Obituary

LEIMOMI I MALDONADO Leimomi I-Maldonado, beloved Kumu Hula and iconic hula entertainer, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2025, at St. Francis Hospice in Nu uanu. She was 84. A professional dancer, choreographer, and producer, Leimomi shared Hawaii's beauty worldwide and taught hula for more than four decades, shaping generations of dancers through her school, Ka Hale I o Kahala. Her legacy lives on through her artistry, discipline, and aloha. She is survived by her daughter, Gaye Kaupiko, and son-in-law, Brian Kaupiko; grandchildren Reyn, Skye, Hunter, and Tehani; and great-grandchildren Cruz, Harlow, Cash, Ava, and Haze.
