Lelaine Ching Obituary

LELAINE MYRA CHING Lelaine (Lee) Myra Ching passed away unexpectedly on July 31, 2024. She was born and raised in Palo Alto, California, and worked at Hewlett-Packard. In the late 70s she moved to Hawaii where she worked at the University of Hawaii and then for many years at Aloha Airlines where she met her husband Gordon. After retiring, she filled her time as a travel agent at Pacific Travel Planners. Her experience in the travel industry furnished a lifetime of amazing travel. She loved travelling to Thailand, among other places in Asia, and took countless cruises all around the world. She had a second home in Reno to keep close to her family and felt especially at home at the Peppermill where she loved to play her slots. She was a strong-willed woman with a zest for life and conquered countless medical conditions so she could keep travelling the world and visit the ones she loved. Her will to live was present until the very end when her time had come and her body could not go on. She was a loving wife and a wonderful mother and will be missed immensely by all her family and friends. She is survived by her loving husband Gordon Y.C. Ching and son Kevin C.L. Ching; daughters Kimberly Clingman and Ronda Lashier; brothers Russ (Shirley) Martindale and Herschel (Beverly) Martindale; and sister Sharon (Ronald) Laursen. She leaves behind 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Private graveside services were held at Nuuanu Memorial Park and Mortuary where she is buried.
