LILLIAN KUBO Obituary

LILLIAN MITSUKO KUBO Lillian Mitsuko Kubo, born on October 13, 1931, to Satoru and Yachiyo Miyoshi, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2024, after a brief illness at the age of 92. Lillian grew up in Honolulu, Hawaii, in the Kaimuki neighborhood near the slopes of Diamond Head. She was a beloved sister to Kenneth and Allen Miyoshi, both of whom preceded her in death. Known for her unwavering strength, kindness, and dedication to her family, Lillian touched the hearts of many with her generosity and compassion. For many years, Lillian was a stay-at-home mother, devoted to spending time with her children. In keeping with this, she worked as a secretary at Waialae Elementary School while her children attended school there. After her children finished high school, Lillian began her career as a legal secretary. Throughout the 1980s, she worked at several prominent law firms, including Conahan Law Group and Goodsill. Her colleagues expressed how she was a joy to work with and surprisingly humorous, bringing light and laughter to the workplace. Lillian's hobbies included baking scones and lavosh, and cooking many recipes that continue to be used by family members today. She was an amazing seamstress, crafting aloha shirts for her husband that could compete with any purchased from Reyn Spooner. She fashioned many designer style outfits and evening wear for her daughter. Additionally, Lillian excelled at knitting, crocheting, needlepoint, and Hawaiian quilting, showcasing her incredible talent and creativity in every piece she made. Lillian enjoyed traveling with her husband Charles and her family to places like Australia, New Zealand, Italy, Greece, Japan, and Las Vegas. She was always stylish and fashionable with impeccable taste. She was sweet-natured and generous, always putting others' needs before her own. Lillian is survived by her daughter Stacie Beaman (Bert), son Kordell Kubo (Rayna), and her two grandchildren, Amanda Beaman and Noah Kubo. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Akira Kubo. At Lillian's request, no services will be held.
