Lothar Varady Obituary

Dr. Varady knew me as a young child. He was a friend to my mother who was a DON. He was my Dr. as a child. I had the chance to visit and chat with him, once, as an adult, and it was a riveting conversation. I thought of him tonight and decided to look him up, with hopes of reaching out to him. I am saddened to learn of his passing. He was a wonderful, and striking person, aside from being a great Dr. My condolences to his family and friends.

Lothar was a friend of my mother. He was a remarkable and resilient man who witnessed (and survived) some extraordinary history and helped many people in his life.

Hi, I only heard today of Dr Varady´s passing. My deep condolences to his family.
I worked with him at Castle
Medical Center.
He was one of the best psychiatrists I have worked with.
I have a son who has schizophrenia and Dr Varady was one of the few people in the field who I could talk to about my son.
He introduced me to Goethe.
I asked Dr Varady what his secret to longevity was and he said....eat as little as possible and exercise as much as possible!
I am so grateful to have known him and worked with him.
A competent, caring and wise man.
