Jane and I turned an old VW bug into a cheerful planter in Howard´s yard in Olinda, Maui. We had a nice friendship and I always enjoyed visiting with her. I have been good friends with Howard for more than fifty years. We met at Maui Community College and he and Mitch Ardoin were roommates up on Piiholor Road while I lived with friends on Olinda Road. We were all young and enjoyed singing, dancing and playing together for several years up there. I introduced Howard to Sue Ellen who is his wife and the mother of his now adult sons, Oakley and Ashley. There are grandchildren also living with them in the beautiful house that Howard built for them. I know that they are very happy together there.

It is hard to think of Lanikai without JANE!! I still often think I hear her at the Park when all the paddlers gather to wash off...... I'm grateful that we were able to hear her memories at the last meeting at the Park... She will be missed.......
