Mary Elizabeth Cress "Libby" Richardson, 80, of Roanoke, Va., passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025.
She worked as an activity director for childcare and eldercare. Mary was active in her church for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Annie and Jessie Cress; her first husband, John E. Leedy Jr.; her second husband, Roy A. Richardson; her siblings, Lucy, J.B., and Nancy; her four-legged baby, Snickers; and numerous others who have gone before her.
Surviving is her daughter, Diane "Tink" Leedy DeHaven and husband, Richard "Bickie" DeHaven Jr.; granddog, StanLee; sister, Juanita Clemons "Doodle" and Dewey; sisters-in-law, Becky Fields and Donna Stroupe; brother-in-law, Marty Leedy; aunt and uncle, Lloyd and Ruth Sawyers; special family members, Michelle, Mike, Alyssa and Anthony; as well as numerous "daughters and sons," Lisa P. Stiff "bonus daughter;" special friends, Liz Lilley, Paula Ellis and Brenda Williams; and her extended Harmony House Memory Care family, Corban, Kerri, Shannon, Ashley, Marissa, Kristi, Stephanie, Keshanna, Rita and many others.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Gentiva Hospice staff for their excellent care.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at Oakey's South Chapel. Her graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. Condolences may be shared with her family by visiting www.Oakeys.com.
