Michael Cobb Obituary

MICHAEL MIKE WAYNE COBB Age 66 of Pearl City, Hawaii, passed away quietly at his home on August 1, 2023. He was born in Sasebo, Japan and moved to the United States at the age of seven. The family settled permanently in Hawaii after living in other parts of the mainland. His father (Dwight Lee Cobb) was a Naval Officer; his mother (Tsuko Wakegawa Cobb) was a duty-free shop employee. Mike attended Moanalua High School and played on its football team. After graduation, he pursued his interest in law enforcement by joining the Honolulu Police Department in 1977. In his 46 years with HPD, he held various positions and was a Sergeant at the time of his passing. Mike was very engaged in supporting his sons and grandchildren with their various sports activites as they were growing up. He coached baseball and football for many years, but Mike's fervor for sports was surpassed by his love for all his grandchildren. He was happiest when he could combine both "loves" by accompanying them to their athletic events. Mike lived simply and loved gently, traits for which his children and grandchildren will always remember him. Mike's parents and brother, Daniel Cobb, predeceased him. He is survived by sons Anthony Cobb (Kiwi Armitage) and Timothy Cobb (Judy Konishi); companion Della Joaquin; hanai sons Josiah Keliihoomalu-Abregano and Bronson Joaquin; grandchildren: Noah, Adora and ldalis Cobb and hanai grandson Tytyn Zayn Omerod Joaquin; sister-in-law Elaine Cobb; nephews Jeffrey and Brandon Cobb, and niece Kirsha Cobb. A Wake service will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at Mililani Mortuary, Mauka Chapel. Visitation: 5:30 p.m.; Service: 6:30 p.m. A funeral mass will be held the next day, October 26th, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Pearl City. Visitation: 9:00 a.m.; Service: 10:30 a.m.; Burial: 12:30 p.m. at Mililani Park Cemetery. Casual Attire and Flowers are Welcome.
