Mildred Sakumoto Obituary

MILDRED SAKUMOTO Mildred N. Tatsuko Sakumoto, 95, passed away peacefully in Honolulu on February 2, 2024. She was born in Olaa, Hawaii and moved to Oahu in 1945. She retired from Dole Pineapple Company after working there for over 40 years. Mildred was an active member of the Honpa Hongwanji Hawaii Betsuin and the Buddhist Women's Association. She also enjoyed gardening and volunteering with Project Dana, offering support for kupuna and their caregivers. Her warm smile and kind heart left a lasting impression on those who knew her. Preceded in death by husband Earl, Mildred is survived by her son, Kyle (Atsuko); daughters Ann Kondo (Garrett) and Lori Matsumoto (Kevin); grandchildren Matthew Sakumoto (Joanna), Katherine Imanaka (Scott), Mari Kondo, and Abigail Matsumoto; great- grandson Owen Imanaka. The family deeply appreciates Kalakaua Gardens for the exceptional love and care they provided for her. Visitation at 9:00 am at Hosoi Garden Mortuary on Saturday, March 30, 2024.
