Mun Ching Obituary

MUN YEI CHIP CHING Mun Yei "Chip" Ching, beloved son, brother, uncle and friend passed away peacefully at 75 years of age on December 31, 2024 at his home in Honolulu, Hawaii. Born on April 26th, 1949 to Hung Leong and Mabel Tom Ching and brother to Suelyn Ching Tune, Chip was a cherished member of the Ching/Tune family. Chip is survived by his nephew, Padraic "Rick" Tune; Rick's wife, Staci Overton-Tune; great-nephew, Aidan Tune; and great-niece Teagan Tune. Known for his hospitality and generous spirit, Chip was a man of tremendous kindness, always bringing smiles and a helping hand to everyone he interacted with. His genuine care for others was spread liberally and intentionally which was appreciated by his friends and family alike. Chip leaves a legacy of love, generosity, self sacrifice and service to others along with a deep commitment to his family and friends. His gentle soul and warm heart will be dearly missed by those who survive him but we are comforted by the fact we know he is his eternal home with his parents, sister and God. In honoring Chip, we invite all who knew him to contribute to the promise of continued kindness and compassion by honoring him with a celebration of his life beginning at 9:00am on March 15th with visitation. Service to follow at 9:45am at Nuuanu Memorial Park. Arrangements Provided By: Nuuanu Memorial Park & Mortuary LLC
