I first became friends with Mycole during the start of his sophomore year (my junior year at SU) when we were classmates in Japanese 1 course taught by Shizuko Suenaga and before that I met him the year before at Japan Club where he was treasurer of the club. The same year I became friends with Mycole, we were both living on the same floor of Xavier Hall 3rd floor my junior year. Mycole was an interesting guy. We shared many fond memories together both in college and after college. At Xavier Hall, Mycole also taught me how to play poker as he and our mutual buddy, Mark were roommates. We used to either go to his room or my room to play poker for pop tarts or spare cash we had lying around. It was fun and we also played pickup basketball together for fun at the SU Connelly Center both during college and after college graduation. Upon graduating from SU, I stayed around, living near campus. Mycole and I would hang out at his Archbishop Murphy apartments room every week and we´d be watching movies in his room, take him to go grocery shopping, play poker one on one, or meetup at Connelly Center to play pickup basketball with other students. We drifted apart around 2009 and we lost contact. It wasn´t until today, September 26, 2024, that a mutual friend and fellow SU alumni told me about Mycole´s death a year before.
I am in complete shock and I wish the best condolences and prayers for his family.
Mycole still lives on through fun memories with him, both on SU campus and after graduation.
Mycole will truly be missed.
