Nancy Shizuru Obituary

NANCY MOANA SHIZURU On Saturday, August 17, 2024, Nancy Moana Shizuru passed away in Kuliouou, surrounded by her ohana. She was 86 years old. Nancy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose legacy of love and kindness will be cherished by all who knew her. She was born on March 30, 1938, in Honolulu, to Oliver R. Stillman and Lucy (Reeves) Stillman. On November 10, 1956 she married James M.K. Shizuru at Holy Trinity Church in Kuliouou. An outstanding scholar, she attended Sacred Hearts Academy where because of her academic prowess she skipped a grade in middle school graduating in 1955. She then attended the University of Hawaii where she met her future husband James. Hardworking and fearless, Nancy had a long career in the travel industry, even owning her own travel agency. Kind, loving, and with the most disarming smile, she was always there to support her large and extended Kuliouou family. Nancy is survived by her children: James (Cindy), Dawn (Scott), Richard (Lisa), Matthew (Ceciy), Moana (Kekoa), and Nanea. She was a proud grandmother to 16 grandchildren, 12 great- grandchildren, and 2 great- grandchildren. Services to honor Nancy's life will be held at Diamond Head Mortuary on Thursday, October 17, 2024. Visitation: 10am; Services: 11am; Burial: 2pm at Valley of the Temples Memorial Park. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever. Arrangements Provided By: Diamond Head Mortuary Chapel
