Nicholas Teves Obituary

NICHOLAS WALTER TEVES, JR. Nicholas Walter Teves, Jr. passed away peacefully on January 1, 2023 with his family at his side. He was 77. Born and raised in Honolulu, Nick was the second of five children of Nicholas Walter Teves, Sr. and Ah Lai Sue Teves. After graduating from Saint Louis School in 1963, Nick attended Foothill College and the University of Hawaii. His high school summers were spent alongside his father who taught him the electrical trade. From apprentice to journeyman, he began a career as an electrical contractor and founded Commercial Electric, Inc. in 1973. Nick cherished his time with family and friends and enjoyed auto racing, golfing and traveling. He served on the Land Use Commission, Honolulu Fire Commission, and the Contractors License Board. A past President of the Sand Island Businessmen Association, Nick remained an active board member. Predeceased by his brother, Russel, Nick is survived by his wife Helene; brother Pia (Tina) Teves; sisters Mikihala (Paul, d.) Texeira, and Kathleen (William, d.) Breeden; daughters Shawnna (Travis) Yamashita, and Tia (Alex) Fergus; and six grandchildren. He will be dearly missed. Celebration of Life forthcoming. No flowers, please.
