Norman Sosner Obituary

NORMAN SOSNER Norman Sosner of Honolulu, Hawaii passed away peacefully at home on June 2, 2025 at theage of 97. Born in London, England graduating with a degree from the London School of Economics, Norman attained the rank of Flying Officer in Britain's Royal Air Force. During his military service, he was active as a Producer, Director and Actor at Cranwell Community Theater. Emigrating to New York City in 1955, Norman met Joyce, another English expat, working as an airline secretary with whom he married a year later. Together, they would build a wholesale travel business with worldwide offices including in New York, Chicago, and Honolulu. Norman was a pioneer Wholesale Tour Operator to the Hawaiian Islands from 1959-1982 selling group inclusive tours through retail travel agents in the United States and Europe. He was founder and President of Hawaiian Holidays Tours, Inc which would bring more than 50,000 visitors to Hawaii annually. He was also a founding member of the United States Tour Operators Association. (USTOA). Taking early retirement in Montecito, Ca, Norman served as a Director, EVP and President of the Santa Barbara Symphony and held major fundraiser events for both the Lobrero and Ensemble Theaters for 16 years. Norman and his wife spent their golden years close to family in Honolulu where he wrote and published his autobiography and 4 additional romance novels. Norman was preceded in passing by his beloved wife of 66 years, Joyce Sosner. He is survived by sons David (Leonie) and Jeremy (Sissy), sister Marlene Iseman of London, and grandchildren Daxs Moore, Michael Harvey, Whitney Harvey, Marina Sosner and Noah Sosner.
