Philip Obado Obituary

PHILIP OBADO Of Ewa Beach was born and raised in Lanai. His youth years included Future Farmers of America member as a photographer and recorder. Raising many chickens, pigs and even a cow. He loved fishing, diving, spearfishing, throw-net fishing and pole. He loved his beer, talking story with his friends morning, noon, and all night. He was extremely talented at playing his ukulele. He retired after 30 years as a structural ironworker for Industrial Welding and mainland companies. Working on the Convention Center, Ala Moana shopping Center, Aloha Stadium and numerous high rises in Honolulu, Military base projects and neighbor island projects to name a few. He was a union member of Ironworkers Union local 625. He is survived by his longtime girlfriend and life partner, Sheryl Bubier of 42 years. They shared a love of the ocean and their home together. He's remembered as being funny, good sense of humor and willing to help - family & friends. He's also survived by his mother Soledad "Sue" Obado, siblings Gloria Reyes, Douglas, Dwight "Lui" (predeceased), Patrick and Glenda Ito, nieces, and nephews. Service and scattering of his ashes will be held later on Lanai. Arrangements Provided By: Oahu Mortuary
