PIERRE APISALOMA Obituary
PIERRE CHARLES APISALOMA We are heartbroken Pierre Charles Apisaloma, 83, passed away June 13, 2025, in Aiea. He cherished life! Retired General Foreman II Electrician at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard, Pierre was born in Honolulu May 5, 1942. A 1960 Kamehameha Schools graduate, Pierre starred in sports, took piano lessons and was a marching band tuba player. He and his older brother by one year, played side by side as outstanding athletes on the Kamehameha Warriors football team. It was at school and work Pierre forged lifelong friendships. Upon graduation Pierre joined the All-Hawaii 6th Infantry Basic Training Unit at Fort Ord with 11 classmates. He deployed to Germany where his love of music and guitar playing kept him and his island buddies from homesickness. Industrious, Pierre worked for Oahu Railway as a teenager, sparking a lifelong passion for building model trains, planes and classic cars. A single parent, he raised two sons. Pierre was gifted with a fantastic mind that replayed growing up adventures like movies. He could name a popular song, the artist or group singing it and the year aired. He followed the Dodgers and Golden State Warriors with his karaoke buddies and family. An avid reader of the daily newspaper, he and his wife Mamo enjoyed doing the Scramble and Crosswords together. And he cooked delicious dinners! Most of all, Pierre was sincere, witty, romantic and loving...always a grateful "thank you." We miss his presence, conversations, humor, and rich baritone karaoke singing. Pierre is survived by his wife, Mamo Inaba Apisaloma; son, Pierre Malosi Apisaloma; brothers Hans Apisaloma (Tammy), Jan Kahale, Francois Kahale (Laura); sisters Darlene Johnson (Alan, decd.) and Moana Carreira (Lance, decd.); grand & great grandchildren, and extended family of cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his son Andre Charles Apisaloma (2008), sister Annette Lundvall (2019), and former wife/mother of his sons, Faye Garret Takaki (2011), "We begin to remember not just that you died, but that you lived. And that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget."
