RANDOLPH RAN GALT January 27, 1930 - October 9, 2024 With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Randolph "Ran" Galt, a loving husband, devoted father, caring brother, and cherished friend. Ran passed away peacefully on October 9, 2024, at the age of 94, surrounded by his wife, Maryann, and their son, Gideon, in their home on the Big Island of Hawaii. Born on January 27, 1930 in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Carter and Dorothy Galt. Ran's passion for travel was boundless. He and Maryann journeyed across continents, engaging in missionary work that brought hope and healing to many. It was during a trip to Africa that their family grew in an unexpected but deeply meaningful way. While visiting, they encountered a four-year-old boy named Gideon. Moved by compassion, Ran said, "We need to help this little one." With God's guidance and a heart full of faith, they adopted Gideon and brought him to the United States, where he became an integral part of their family, a source of endless joy and blessings. Ran is survived by his wife of 39 years, Maryann Galt; his son Gideon Galt; and his daughters, Katrina Lunore, Melissa Galt, and Maginel Galt. He also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly. He is preceded in death by his parents, Carter and Dorothy, and his sister, Dawn Aull. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ran's memory to one of his favorite ministries: Youth With A Mission - Kona, Mercy Ships, Bethel Church Redding or Deeper Still Hawaii.
