Reed Glover Obituary

REED SHEPHERD GLOVER Reed Shepherd Glover passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by loved ones on December 3, 2025. All who love him remember Reed as a strong man that was guided by his faith and his humor. Born on August 20, 1935 in the Territory of Hawai'i, Reed spent his early years hunting, ranching, and playing polo on O'ahu and the Big Island. After finishing his service as a Marine at MCAS El Toro, Reed agreed to a blind date, where he met the love of his life, Diane. As he raised his family, Reed faithfully served as the Chaplain for 'Iolani Lower School and as Headmaster for Holy Nativity School. Reed enjoyed his retirement with his wife of nearly 67 years by traveling the country and becoming a master woodturner. He is survived by his wife, Diane; sisters, Eve Anderson and Blair (Kennedy) Parry-Okeden; brother, Jim Kennedy; daughters, Danielle Glover, Maile Glover Martin, Mary Valiencourt, and Stephanie Glover McCready; sons, Mark Glover and Shawn Glover; second-generation children, Rachel Glover and Reed Glover, Jr.; niece, Sharri Belisle; grandchildren, Harrison, Meilani, Eve, David, Sarah, Samantha, Miki, and Danielle; seven nephews; a niece; and many great- grandchildren. Predeceased by sons, Brian and Ed Glover. A Celebration of Life will be held for Reed on December 13th at the Christ Church Uniting Disciples and Presbyterians at 1300 Kailua Road, Kailua, HI. Services will begin promptly at 10:30 and a light lunch will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the church in Reed's memory at https://www.ccukailua.org/give.
