So very sad to learn of Richard’s passing. We have been friends for many decades, and visited with each other whenever he was in Seattle or I was in Honolulu. He was always a joy to spend time with. I will really miss his friendship, his quick smile, and his big laugh. Rest in peace, my dear friend.

Richard had been a wonderful friend to me since 1978 or perhaps earlier. He was a vibrant, gigantic personality; funny, witty, politically astute, generous, willing to help at anytime. He loved popular music and was always exuberant about life. We supported each other through our ups and downs, keeping in touch whether he was in Seattle, Anchorage, Pago Pago or Honolulu. Thanks for the memories, my friend. I miss you being in this world
