Mr. Cundy was the Vice Principal at KSPD when I went there as a border. I was very homesick and wanted to leave Kamehameha and go back to the country. My parents were driving from the country almost every night for two months as I was trying to leave Kamehameha. Finally one evening Mr. Cundy spoke to my dad and told him to give me another month and if I still wanted to leave then they should take me out. Well ... I made it through the month and stayed another six years to graduate. I didn't know the full story of what Mr. Cundy said to my dad until many years later when my dad told me of the conversation they had. Reading about his love for Hawaii and Hawaiians and that my dad like him had been a sailor from the mainland who fell in love with this place we call " aina " really struck home. I'm so glad he lived a long life and " Mahalo Mr Cundy ... a Hawaiian without the DNA " ... you impacted my life so positively ... Mahalo Nui Loa

Aloha Oe, Mr. Cundy, you were my principal at KSPD. As long ago as that was, I still have fond memories of both you and Miss Lord.
