To have to say goodbye to one of my closest friends is a hard message to write. I first met Bob Hurd in 1978 at huge party at Captain Peter Fowler Sr´s house in Haiku. He was standing there with Captain Blackie Bell and that was the beginning of a lifetime friendship with both of these of two special people. Bob was one of the smartest and wittiest guys I have known. He was also a great pilot! After retiring he bought a beautiful boat and joined the Kaneohe Yacht Club where he enjoyed a nice life on the quiet side of the island. Our favorite hangout was Orson´s in Kailua. There are too many stories to tell about Bob´s sense of humor, but somewhere up there I can see Bob and Blackie sitting at the bar with my aunt having fun at Orson´s in the sky! You will be forever missed my friend! Thank you for enriching our lives with your presence. Aloha for now......
