Maxine Senters Obituary
Mrs. Maxine "Granny" Senters, 87, of Mackey Bend, passed away Monday afternoon, September 15, 2025 at the Barbourville ARH Hospital. She was born November 19, 1937 in Middlesboro, the daughter of the late Fate and Edna Ballew Partin.
Maxine was a former seamstress with Warner's and a member of the Little Poplar Creek Baptist Church. Granny lived a simple country life embracing nature, loved a sunny day to work outdoors and took joy in getting her hands in the dirt. She found contentment and peace with her flowers and gardening. She will be remembered fondly for her chicken and dumplings, fried apple pies and much more.
She enjoyed watching westerns, building puzzles, coloring, drawing, painting crafts, quilting, crocheting, caring for her chickens and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
On October 19, 1957, she united in marriage with Everett Haze Senters who preceded her in death.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Senters and a sister, Carolyn Mattox.
Survivors include her loving children, Ricky Senters of Maryland, Everett Senters Jr. of Tye Bend, Debbie Lynn Paul and husband, Charles, of Williamsburg, Madge Owens and husband, Elvis, of Barbourville, Dianne Senters of Mackey Bend and Trina Garland of Barbourville; a sister-in-law, Mildred Senters of Bryants Store; special niece, Tracie Kesling; treasured grandchildren, Jeremy Trent and wife, Dana, Travis Garland and wife, Alyssa, Gage Senters, Courtney R. Jordan, Elizabeth Garland and Colton Owens; great grandchildren, Addy, Brody and Hudson Haze Trent and Monica Garland; among other loved ones and dear friends.
Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Friday, September 19 at 12 Noon. with Rev. Mickie Smith officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Mays Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be family and friends.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to the Barbourville ARH Hospital and Bluegrass Hospice for the wonderful care given to Maxine.Friends may visit at the funeral home Thursday between 6 and 8 P.M. and Friday prior to the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
