ROBERT LOW Obituary

ROBERT LOW It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Robert Low, a retired commercial insurance professional, loving husband, father, grandfather, friend and one of the last true gentlemen. Robert, or Doungie, as he was fondly known to his family, passed peacefully at 89 years to join his wife of 64 years, Joyce Uno. From Niles, CA, Robert grew up in the family-owned grocery business and received his degree from San Jose State. Shortly after graduating during the Vietnam War, he served in the Army and was stationed on Oahu at Schofield Barracks. Following his years of Army service, he started his career at Finance Factors in Honolulu and soon after embarked on a successful career in the commercial insurance industry. He was an exceptional entrepreneur and business person, who was generous about sharing his experience and perspective. Robert always had a smile on his face, a twinkle in his eye and a calm demeanor no matter what the situation was. Doungie will be missed by his family, sons, Steffen, and his wife Kate, and their children Elliot and Kelsey, Todd, and his wife Meredith, and their children, Rhys and Evan. Services will be held at Borthwick Mortuary, Makai Chapel, on Saturday, April 26, Visitation at 9am, Service at 10am, with a reception to follow. Burial will be held at Skylawn Memorial Park, San Mateo.
