Robert Oshiro Obituary

ROBERT Y. OSHIRO 83, of Honolulu, HI died on November 21, 2023. He was born in Pepeekeo, HI. Robert served during the Vietnam war as a special forces airborne ranger. Robert was also a retired electrician of American Electric. He enjoyed gardening, softball, and most of all cooking. He is survived by his loving family; (wife) Eun Jin Lee Oshiro, (son) Harry Oshiro, (daughter) Kathy Oshiro, (grandchildren) Ashley, Yoshi, Lancee and 5 great grandchildren. Siblings: Kenji Oshiro (Ikuko), Richard Oshiro (Linda Deceased) Alban Oshiro (Faith), Henry Oshiro (Theresa), George Oshiro (Elaine), David Oshiro Deceased, Alwin Oshiro (Carol), Ernest Oshiro (Helen), Olivia Naomi Begeman (Taro) Pre-deceased by father Kamado and mother Tsuyako. A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at 5:00pm Nuuanu Memorial Park and Mortuary with a final resting place at National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl on January 12, 2024 at 11:30am. I served with (SGT) Bob Oshiro in Vietnam from Sept. 1966 to February 1967. We had a close relationship. He visited me at my home in New York many years after the war. Bob was special person and a great friend. I am sad to hear of his passing.
