Robert Racoma Obituary

ROBERT B. RACOMA Retired Gunnery Sergeant Robert Bernardino Racoma passed away on July 16, 2024. Robert joined the United States Marine Corps in 1959. He served until being honorably discharged in 1979. While on active duty, he received the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Letter of Appreciation, M-16 Rifle Expert 5th Award, and .45 Pistol Sharpshooter. Thank you for your service and dedication to our country, Robert. Robert was born on March 29, 1941, in Wailuku, Maui. He was preceded in death by daughter Angela Jane Topinio. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Racoma (Long), son, Robert Wade Racoma, daughter, Michelle Lee Mossman, seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Robert was active throughout his life and enjoyed many passions and hobbies, including being a fun and involved grandpa, hang gliding, sailing, golf, tennis, and fishing. He was also a former member of the Hui Maka'i Motorcycle Club. Services will be held at the Church of Jesus of Latter-Day Saints, 95-1039 Meheula Pkwy., Mililani Town (smaller building at the left side of the entrance), on Saturday, Sept. 21st. Services will be at 10 a.m., and there will be no viewing.
