I knew Rob aka(W***) when we were both in high school, back in the 1960's. I have always thought fondly of him. My best to his wife, children and grandchildren.

I knew Rob from when he worked for the Pacific Ocean Division of the Army Corps of Engineers at Fort Shafter, Honolulu, Hawaii in the late 1970s. Just this morning (29 Oct 2023) I mentioned him to my wife in the context that ornithologists whistle to attract birds they are studying. Ron worked with me doing environmental impact studies, he being involved bird studies to support an Environmental Impact Statement assessing the operations of the U.S. Army in Hawaii. He was a true professional as well as being very personable.

Ron will be missed by all who knew him and appreciated his commitment and dedication to conservation of our natural heritage, science and professionalism. The fruits of his efforts will be enjoyed and available to current generations and those yet to be born. I miss you Rob and am forever grateful for having the opportunity to work with you. Charlie
