Robert Yuen Obituary

ROBERT BOBBY CHEU MUN YUEN Robert Cheu Mun Yuen of Honolulu, HI, entered the presence of the Lord on August 8, 2024. He was born in Honolulu on May 27, 1934. A 1952 Governor Wallace Rider Farrington High School graduate, he also received a degree from Honolulu Bible Training School. Robert married Dorothy (Dottie) Lau of Honolulu in 1957. Both he and Dottie were active members of Kalihi Union Church. Robert served in the United States Army in Korea and was stationed near the DMZ during his active duty. His professional career included working at Alexander and Baldwin before and after serving in the army. Robert spent much of his career as an insurance executive with King and Neel Insurance Company in Honolulu, where he retired in 1995. He enjoyed volunteering with the Farrington Alumni and the Pearl Harbor Rotary Club. Robert is survived by his wife, Dorothy Yuen, and sister Edith Viernes, in addition to twelve nieces and nephews and four godchildren. He was preceded in death by Stanley Yuen. Special mahalo to the Health Care Center at Arcadia Retirement Residence for their love, care, and attention during his latter years. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Kalihi Union Church, 2214 N King St, Honolulu, HI 96819-4597. Visitation at 9:00 am. Service at 10:00 am with refreshments to follow in the fellowship hall. Aloha attire. The inurnment ceremony will be held on Tuesday, October 1, at 11:00 am at the Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery, 45-349 Kamehameha Hwy, Kaneohe, HI 96744.
